Frequently Asked Questions
What kinds of alterations do we do? + -
While our primary focus is bridal and formal wear, we do accept most apparel alterations, including prom, bridesmaid, flower girl, homecoming, pageant, communion, quinceanera, cotillion, dancewear, uniforms, and casual wear. We do not work on home goods, bags, shoes, or leather.
Do I need an appointment? + -
We strongly prefer appointments. We accept walk-ins only when schedule allows.
How much do alterations cost? + -
There is no minimum or maximum cost for alterations. It’s impossible to estimate a cost without seeing your exact garment IN PERSON. Though it can vary, about 90% of our bridal gown tickets cost between $500 and $1,000 and our non-bridal clients are in the range of $100-$300. There is a non-refundable bridal booking fee of $60. We do not charge a booking fee for non-bridal clients.
*Please note that the non-refundable booking fee is a separate charge to hold your spot on our reservation list. If you decide to continue with us for the alterations process, this fee will be applied towards the cost of the total bill.
When should I get in touch? + -
ASAP! We maintain a reservation list ahead of our seasons, so we’ll hold you a spot based on your wedding date once you have paid your nonrefundable booking fee. This list usually becomes full early, so we encourage prospective clients to reserve their spot as soon as possible. You do not need to have your dress to reserve your appointment.
What is the turnaround time? + -
For bridal gowns:
Call to book your appointment early. When you call, we will schedule your first fitting for 6-8 weeks before your wedding and your final fitting at least 2 weeks before your wedding.
For non-bridal:
Call to schedule your appointment as soon as you know you need one. Prom especially fills up quickly, so we encourage you to reserve early. We have a standard 2-week turnaround time. We accept rush jobs seasonally when scheduling allows. Call to check our availability.
What should I bring to my bridal fittings? + -
You MUST bring your shoes with you to ALL of your fittings. We don’t recommend a “similar” shoe as they will still be different, and we can’t accurately mark your hem or pin your bustle without them. For your first fitting, we recommend you bring any undergarments that you might like to try. Spanx, hosiery, bras, tape—whatever you’re thinking, we should discuss it or try it all. We have bust cups and other things available, but we will try to work with whatever makes you feel your best. Anything you wear underneath affects the fit, so we must see it all on you at each of your fitting appointments.
What forms of payment are accepted, and when is payment due? + -
The full payment is due at the time of your first fitting. We accept all credit cards and cash.
What if I need to change my appointment date? + -
For our bridal clients:
We understand that since the bridal appointments are often made months in advance, you may need to change your appointment day. We can move your appointment for no extra charge with at least 48 hours notice. If you do not provide the minimum notice, you will forfeit the booking fee and will need to pay the booking fee again to reschedule.
For our non-bridal clients:
Please provide 48 hours notice to reschedule. Please note that the 2-week turnaround begins the day you drop off your garment.
